VAUXHALL ASTRA Car Review
One of the most stylish family hatchbacks on the road
The Vauxhall Astra is a British motoring institution. Built in Britain, which means you are backing British jobs when you buy one, the Astra is like a mate you can rely upon, solid and dependable, its built to cope with the demands of a modern driver.
Vauxhall have made big improvements on interior quality and the well laid out cabin is user friendly with everything close to hand for the driver.
Good on interior space, front and back with a big boot, the Astra also has confortable seats that make it just as happy on long motorway runs as it is driving around town.
Like all modern hatchbacks the Astra has an impressive list of standard equipment, and on the higher equipped models is what you would expect in an executive car.
The Astra is an easy and relaxing car to drive, although the gearbox is not as slick as either a Focus or a VW Golf. It does have a strong line-up of engines. My preference are the diesels which give you 62-70mpg plus.
