Motorpoint switches on to Switch Up20 October 2016
Motorpoint has chosen Switch Up as its official Charity Partner in the East Midlands
The UK’s largest car supermarket, which is headquartered in Derby, has decided to support the work of the Nottingham-based young people’s organisation over the next 12 months. It has also provided the St Anne’s based Community Interest Group with a branded SUV during this period.
The brainchild of former boxer Marcellus Baz, Switch Up was founded in 2013 to help rehabilitate disaffected young people across Nottingham through sport. Supported by patrons Torvill and Dean, it helps steer upwards of 350 young people every year away from a potential life of crime.
Satvir Atwal, General Manager of Motorpoint Derby, explained: “We’re delighted to have teamed up with Marcellius to support the important work done by Switch Up. I look forward to working with my colleagues in Derby to help raise as much money as possible to help ensure the work Switch Up does in Nottingham continues for years to come.”
Marcellus Baz, Founder of Switch Up, added: “I am extremely grateful to Motorpoint for adopting us as their official charity partner in the East Midlands and at the same time raising greater awareness of the work we do as an organisation among the Motorpoint customer base.”
