2026 Omoda 4: price, specs & release date

Omoda is rapidly increasing its portfolio of UK models.

Luckily, Omoda’s numbering system means you’ve got a rough idea of where this new model sits. The Omoda 4 will be the smallest of the brand’s SUVs to date, sitting beneath the 5,7 and 9 models.

It’ll be a ‘B-segment’ SUV, which is to say a small SUV roughly the size of the Ford Puma, Renault Captur, Nissan Juke and Hyundai Kona.

Petrol and electric versions will be available, We think it’ll use the same powertrains as the Omoda 5 and E5, with the petrol version likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 147hp engine. If so, hopefully it won’t be as thirsty as the 5, where the quoted fuel economy is just 31mpg.

Omoda 4 interior

If the Omoda E4 uses the same setup as the E5, you should be able to expect a quoted range of around 280 miles. That would be competitive with the likes of the Skoda Elroq, Hyundai Kona and MG4.

The Omoda 4 is heavily focused at younger buyers, and it aims to grab their attention with a sci-fi inspired design. Omoda’s ‘Cyber Mecha’ design language combines ‘angular lines, metallic finishes, and details inspired by robotics and the aesthetics of science fiction comics’.

We’re told that the inside is not only sci-fi themed, but e-sports themed too. What that means in practice is a large portrait touchscreen featuring a 2.5K Snapdragon processor for snappy response times.

Additionally, there’s a ‘spaceship-inspired’ centre console, with a red cage over the starter button like you’d find in a Lamborghini. While we’re yet to try it for ourselves, we can’t imagine it’ll offer Lamborghini drama when you’re just nipping to Tesco in the rain.

We’ll find out more about the car next year; the launch event in China didn’t go into specifics and instead featured cocktail mixologists, sci-fi characters and even a tattoo booth.

Given that Omoda is clearly keen to tempt younger buyers to the brand, we hope that prices will be reasonable. For context, the entry-level Omoda 5 starts from £23,990, so we’d expect starting prices to be closer to £20,000 for the petrol-powered Omoda 4.

Before the 4 launches, Omoda is bringing another SUV to the UK – the Omoda 7. This’ll sit between the 5 and the Omoda 9, and will rival midsize SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson and Peugeot 3008.

As with the brand’s other models, the 4 will come with Omoda’s seven-year warranty.
