New Geely EX2: price, specs & release date

Almost half a million Geely EX2s were sold in China in 2025.

From August, you’ll be able to buy one here. Prices haven’t been revealed yet, but they should be competitive with other small electric hatchbacks.

We’d expect the Geely EX2 to cost around £20,000, which sounds good until you realise that this car costs the equivalent of £7,000 in China.

Even for the estimated UK price, you might expect the EX2 to feel basic with limited standard equipment. But you get plush-feeling leather-style seats, a big touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, a high-tech parking camera and even a powered bootlid.

Geely EX2 rear

Despite measuring just 4.1 metres long, the EX2 provides enough space for four tall adults to get comfortable in its interior, plus a useful 375-litre boot. Additionally, there’s a 70-litre frunk under the bonnet, a 10-litre slide-out glovebox, lots of centre console storage and hidden space under the rear seats.

The EX2 offers up to 214 miles of charge, which is competitive with many small electric cars, and fast-charges from 30-80% in a reasonable 25 minutes. A rear-mounted electric motor provides 116hp.

Six paint colours will be available, including pastel green and pink shades. You’ll also be able to pick white, beige, and two grey options It seems that all will come with a contrasting black roof and mirrors. The EX2 sits on 16-inch alloy wheels.

Geely EX2 interior

Geely offers an eight-year/125,000-mile warranty on the car and the battery, plus four years of roadside assistance.

The Geely EX2 will go up against the likes of the Renault 4, Kia EV2, Fiat Grande Panda, BYD Dolphin and the upcoming Volkswagen ID. Polo.

Introducing the EX2 will give Geely a three-strong model lineup – it’ll slot in beneath the electric EX5 and plug-in-hybrid Starray SUVs.

Geely’s network now includes around 60 dealerships across the UK, focused on the country’s biggest cities.
