Why buy a used Kia ProCeed?

If you want a car that looks stylish and expensive but isn't, avoid the premium brands and go for a used Kia ProCeed. Because then you can drive a car that's rakish and will get second glances, but with all the baked-in sensibilities of the Kia Ceed. It's a joy to look at and  to live with.

Popular Kia ProCeed trims for sale at Motorpoint

The Kia ProCeed is only available in the Ceed's sporty trims, so the lineup starts at GT-Line. As this is a mid-spec trim level in other Kias, standard equipment is strong. If you want even more luxuries, there's the less common GT-Line S, while previously a more powerful, warmed-up ProCeed GT topped the tree.

Owning a used Kia ProCeed

As we mentioned, the standard Ceed is a sensible thing, and that translates to a car that promises to be easy to own. The ProCeed feels built to last, has an intuitively laid out interior and plentiful passenger space – as long as your rear-seat passengers aren't giants. More recent ProCeeds all come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine in the first two trim levels, and this is quick yet capable of 50mpg when driven carefully. The GT packs a 1.6-litre, 201hp engine for slicker performance but slightly higher running costs. Otherwise, insurance and running costs are very reasonable considering how expensive the ProCeed looks.

Arguably the most similar car to the Kia ProCeed is the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake, which is high praise for the Kia. Otherwise, check out our lists of the best estate cars and best looking cars for inspiration.

Kia ProCeed FAQs

Previous generations were called the pro_cee’d and were three-door versions of the five-door Ceed hatchback. Thankfully, the new ProCeed is no longer a punctuation soup and is much more practical than before. The latest ProCeed went on sale in January 2019 and was facelifted in October 2021.

While a Ceed Sportswagon is ultimately more practical, the Kia ProCeed is a top choice if you want something very stylish but also capable of carrying a load of stuff. It has the low ride height of a hatchback and is good to drive, and benefits from the strengths of the standard Ceed – including a seven-year warranty and economical engines.
