Jaecoo is a relative newcomer on UK roads.
To help new buyers feel more confident, the brand is offering a strong seven-year factory warranty on its cars.
This guide talks you through Jaecoo's factory coverage, including how long it lasts and what inclusions and exclusions to expect.
Jaecoo seven-year warranty overview
- Applies to all Jaecoo models until they reach seven years old or 100,000 miles – whichever comes first
- Applies alongside a two-year warranty on spare parts and an eight-year warranty on hybrid and EV batteries
- Has been Jaecoo's default warranty since arriving in the UK in early 2024
- Makes fair exclusions for wear-and-tear parts, as well as damage caused through accidents, misuse or neglect
- Automatically transfers between owners for the duration of the term
- Effectively the same seven-year warranty as sister-brand, Omoda
How long is Jaecoo's manufacturer warranty?

Jaecoo cars sold in the UK come with a seven-year or 100,000-mile factory warranty – whichever comes first. This has been the company's policy since it first launched here in early 2024. The seven-year figure is counted from the date your car was officially registered. You can use the DVLA's vehicle information checker to find out exactly when your car was registered.
Any parts replaced under warranty are also covered for the remainder of your car's factory warranty. Meanwhile, spare parts that are replaced as part of normal servicing are covered for two years, with variable mileage limits. High-voltage batteries found in hybrid and EV models are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
Jaecoo's factory warranty cover drops to four years or 80,000 miles if the car has ever been used as any of the following:
- Taxi
- Ride sharing
- Private hire
- Vehicle rental
- Driving school
- Delivery or courier vehicle
- Emergency services vehicle
What does Jaecoo's seven-year warranty cover?

Jaecoo's factory warranty covers most vehicle parts if they fail as a result of "defects in [their] manufacture, material or workmanship". In other words, any failures not caused by accidents, misuse or neglect that happen to parts that aren't considered wear-and-tear items.
Read Jaecoo's full warranty terms and conditions for a complete list, but key items covered include:
- Engine
- Fuel system (not including fuel filter)
- Cooling system (not including the coolant itself)
- Gearbox (not including gearbox fluid)
- Transfer case and differentials (not including any fluids)
- Driveline
- Suspension (not including shock absorbers)
- Steering system
- Braking system (not including pads, shoes, discs or drums)
- Electrical parts (not including fuses)
- Hybrid components (not including fuses)
- EV drive components (not including fuses)
What does Jaecoo's seven-year warranty not cover?

You should check Jaecoo's full warranty T&Cs for a complete list of exclusions. Key exclusions include:
- Air conditioning re-gas (unless part of a warranty repair)
- Adjustments
- Wheel alignment
- Wheel balancing
- Mechanical repairs necessary for normal maintenance and/or normal wear and tear
- Panel gaps that are within manufacturer specification
- Noise, vibration or harshness (NVH) that is within manufacturer specification
- Any damage or defect caused by accident, neglect or misuse
Be aware that Jaecoo will refuse your warranty claim if you've failed to keep up with its recommended servicing intervals. There is a 30-day or 1,000-mile leeway for each servicing interval, but it's still important to make sure you've had the car serviced on time in line with Jaecoo's recommendations with documented proof to keep your warranty valid.
You'll also find your claim refused if you've neglected the car. This could be allowing an existing problem to go unchecked, or driving the vehicle hard beyond the manufacturer's recommendations – for example, towing beyond the recommended rating.
As noted above, Jaecoo offers a four-year, 80,000-mile warranty if the vehicle is used as a taxi, courier or emergency vehicle. You must register your vehicle as a taxi, courier etc. with your local Jaecoo dealership if any of these categories apply, otherwise your warranty may be invalidated.
Making any modifications to the vehicle will also automatically invalidate your warranty, as will any tampering with existing parts or systems, including the mileage and VIN identifier. Don't take your Jaecoo to a track day either because any "rallying, racing, hill climbing, speed trials or similar activities" will also see your coverage invalidated.

Is Jaecoo's seven-year warranty transferable?

Yes. Jaecoo's warranty automatically transfers with the car to its new owner and continues to apply as long as the car is still less than seven years old and has covered less than 100,000 miles. In addition, the car must remain unmodified and have kept up to date with Jaecoo's servicing intervals for the coverage to remain valid.
That means all used Jaecoo cars for sale at Motorpoint will still be covered by the manufacturer's original warranty. Each Motorpoint vehicle listing includes exactly how much warranty coverage remains for that particular car.
How long is Jaecoo's hybrid and EV battery warranty?

Hybrid and electric cars use a high-voltage battery pack. This is covered under a separate warranty to the rest of the car. Jaecoo guarantees its high-voltage batteries will retain at least 70% of their original capacity for eight years or 100,000 miles. That's one year longer than the car's main warranty and roughly in line with the rest of the EV market. If the pack falls below 70% capacity, the warranty covers any repairs that will bring it back to at least 70% capacity.
It's important to state, however, that most high-voltage battery packs should last substantially longer than this figure. Most of today's hybrid and electric cars can expect their battery packs to last the lifetime of the car, without ever needing to be replaced. You can prolong the lifespan of your car's high-voltage battery by keeping it between 20-80% during day-to-day use, and restricting your use of the battery's full 100-0% charge to longer journeys.
What is Jaecoo's anti-perforation (rust) warranty?
Most cars offer an anti-perforation warranty. This is usually longer than the regular vehicle warranty and protects against any rust that forms on the car and perforates a panel - i.e. leads to a hole forming. Jaecoo's anti-perforation warranty lasts for 12 years.
This only applies to rust that forms as a result of defective materials, manufacturing or assembly. Any rust caused by external damage that hasn't been repaired by the owner won't be covered.
Can you extend Jaecoo's seven-year warranty?
Jaecoo doesn't offer a default extension to its seven-year warranty. Many rival brands only offer a three-year factory warranty, and ask you to pay extra to extend this coverage to match the seven years Jaecoo is offering as standard.
You might be able to arrange an extended warranty that goes beyond the initial seven-year period from a third-party provider. Be aware that coverage is likely to get more expensive as the car gets older.
Does Jaecoo's seven-year warranty apply to all models?
Yes. Every Jaecoo model sold in the UK is covered by the brand's seven-year warranty. At the time of writing, that's really just one model – the Jaecoo 7 SUV – with the smaller Jaecoo 5 due on sale soon.
