Why buy a used Volvo V90
SUVs might be the hot ticket right now, but we'll always hold a candle for an elegant, long-roofed estate car. Volvo knows this segment well and the V90 is its headline entry, complete with chiselled styling, a plush cabin, and a calm, relaxed ambiance. You get lots of room for passengers to stretch out, and the requisite cavernous load area behind them, all without the tippy, top-heavy handling some SUVs suffer from.

Owning a Volvo V90
The V90 is a welcome alternative to the German cars that often dominate this class. It's more laid back, less aggressive, and aims to get you where you're going without demanding lots of mental or physical effort. So long as you're not looking for a car that can thrill as well as chill, the V90 is a great choice, with comfy seats, simple controls and a usefully practical cargo area.

Volvo V90 FAQs
The V90 is a big car, measuring 4.94 metres in length, 2.02 metres wide including the mirrors, and 1.48 metres tall.
Naturally, that makes the V90 a very practical car with a big boot, but it might be a little trickier to park in tight spots. At least all models include parking sensors as standard.
The V90 has a 560-litre boot. That's about average by class standards, but should still be plenty practical for most owners' needs.
Note that the on-paper figure is measured up to the parcel shelf, and the V90 does have some useable space above this point.
The V90 was offered with turbo petrol, diesel and plug-in-hybrid engines over its production run. All are powerful enough to help the big Volvo feel relaxed, so you should simply pick the one that suits your driving style best.
Drivers covering average mileages and mixed motoring should be fine with a petrol version, while those with high mileages should consider a diesel version. If you can charge at home, the plug-in-hybrid version will dramatically cut your running costs.
