Why buy a used BMW 5 Series?
The BMW 5 Series is a first-class executive saloon, with the class to impress your friends and colleagues, and a keen driving experience for you to enjoy. It's superb at long motorway journeys but still fun on the back roads too.
You'll find two generations of 5 Series for sale at Motorpoint – the 2017-2024 car, and the newer model. Both are offered as a four-door saloon and as an estate, with petrol, plug-in hybrid and performance options. The pre-2024 5 Series gives you the choice of a diesel engine, while the latest 5 Series brings fully electric power for the first time in the i5.
Popular BMW 5 Series trims for sale at Motorpoint
The 2017-2024 5 Series came in SE and M Sport trims, with the latter being overwhelmingly more common. M Sport adds deeper bumpers and bigger wheels, as well as sports seats and exclusive interior trim. For the latest model, the engine-powered 5 Series is only available in M Sport guise – although the electric i5 comes in an entry-level Sport Edition version too.
Owning a used BMW 5 Series
A used BMW 5 Series is considerably cheaper than a brand-new one, so you can enjoy all of the 5 Series' qualities for less as long as you don't mind a few thousand miles on the odometer. The petrol and diesel engines can be decently economical, especially on long journeys, while the plug-in hybrid offers around 30 miles of electric driving from a full battery – which can drastically reduce your running costs if you're going to be driving around town a lot.
