Motorpoint staff raise money taking to the streets of Burnley

16 August 2018 Press Release

Motorpoint staff have raised £640 for Lancashire Mind.

The team from the Burnley branch swapped their suits for running shoes in aid of Lancashire Mind. They joined 2,000 other runners this month taking part in the recent Burnley 10K for their charitable partner.

Based in Chorley, Lancashire Mind is a mental health charity who work in association with others to provide training and support. They also campaign locally to make residents’ mental wellbeing a priority. Motorpoint partnered with Lancashire Mind earlier this year after a long-standing relationship with Pendleside Hospice.

“I would like to say a big thank you to all of my colleagues who took part in the Burnley 10K,” explained Cliff Graham, General Manager of Motorpoint in Burnley. “Even though it was a real challenge for many of us and even with the training, it was still great fun. The best bit about the whole day was that we raised lots of money to support the work of Lancashire Mind.”

The Motorpoint team are already busy planning additional fundraising activities for Lancashire Mind in 2018, including sponsorship of the charities hugely popular Mental Elf 5K Fun Run in December.

Motorpoint has been based in Burnley since November 2001 and has a long-established 10-acre branch on Rosegrove Lane in the town. The branch, which is a short drive from J9 of the M65, is home to over 500 cars from 30 different manufacturers. Every single one is available to drive away on the same day from the UK’s largest independent car retailer.
