This is the new Dacia Striker – will it be a home run, or a swing and a miss?
In Dacia's own clunky words, it 'combines the dynamism of a station wagon, the practicality of a spacious hatchback and the ground clearance of an SUV'.
That means it's a bit of a mish-mash of styles like the Citroen C5 X and Peugeot 408.
2026 Dacia Striker styling

The new Striker is 4.62 metres long. That's a hair longer than the Dacia Bigster SUV (4.57 metres), but the Striker will probably end up a little shorter in height due to its estate bodystyle.
Its front-end styling is an evolution of Dacia's current 'look'. You have a strong horizontal line combining the front grille and headlights – just like the Spring, Duster and Bigster – but the Striker frames this with vertical lines that include the daytime running lights.
From the side, you can just about see what Dacia's marketing department is talking about. The Striker's body has the long-roofed profile of an estate, but with a slight downward curve at the back like a hatchback, all with a lofty SUV ride height to clear potholes and speed bumps.
2026 Dacia Striker engines and performance

So far, Dacia has confirmed a choice of hybrid, hybrid 4x4 and LPG-powered models. Considering none of its UK lineup can currently be ordered with the LPG option, it seems unlikely this versions will make it to our shores.
As for the hybrid engine, the most likely candidate is the 1.8-litre self-charging hybrid currently offered in the Duster and Bigster SUVs. This unit makes 155hp in total and gets those cars from 0-62mph in a little under 10 seconds, while returning average economy just over 60mpg. We anticipate similar figures from the Striker.
It's not yet clear whether the hybrid 4x4 version will also use this 1.8-litre unit. The Duster currently only offers four-wheel drive on its 1.2-litre mild-hybrid engine, which could also be the case for the Striker.
2026 Dacia Striker price and specs

Dacia is targeting a starting price below €25,000 – around £22,000. We're assuming that'll be for an entry-level hybrid model, with that number rising north of £25,000 if you want the 4x4 or a higher-end trim.
The first Dacias sold in the UK were stripped-back models with very little equipment. However, more recent Dacias have eliminated most of the bare-bones trim levels, so we expect all Striker models to include a fully featured infotainment system with smartphone integration, along with a suite of ADAS safety tech.
2026 Dacia Striker release date

Dacia says the Striker will be fully revealed in June. We anticipate sales will start towards the end of 2026.
