01 July 2016 Press Release

Motorpoint has increased its presence in the West Midlands after officially opening its latest branch in Oldbury

The UK’s leading car supermarket welcomed customers through the doors to its five acre site on Churchbridge Road in Oldbury on Friday, July 1.

Motorpoint has invested over £5m in recent weeks on the former Car Select site as part of its drive to increase its presence in the West Midlands. It already has an established site at Aston Cross in Birmingham which opened in mid-2013.

The Oldbury site stocks 500 new and nearly new low mileage cars onsite from 30 different manufacturers, with instant access to a further 5,500 plus cars in group stock – all of them available to drive away same day. Prices start from £4,499 for a Citroen C1 1.0i Edition 3dr.

Conveniently located close to J2 of the M5, Motorpoint Oldbury features extensive free parking, free Wi-Fi and a café. Customers are able to browse seven days a week, including until 8pm weekdays, as well as save an average of 37 per cent off list price on their next car from Motorpoint.

John McConnell, General Manager, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have officially opened our doors to the public. The feedback has been really positive and it’s been great to see so many people coming through the door and experiencing for themselves Motorpoint’s combination of choice, value and service in Oldbury.”

Motorpoint hosted a series of activities throughout the opening weekend in Oldbury. These included a chance to win £1,000 by recording the fast ball bowled in the Birmingham Bear’s ‘Bowlathon’. It also provided free breakfast to anyone who came to site on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3 before midday.

The opening of Oldbury complements the company’s network of existing branches in Birmingham, Birtley, Burnley, Castleford, Chingford, Derby, Glasgow, Newport, Peterborough and Widnes.
