This is the 7th or 8th car I have bought from Motorpoint. Obviously it works well for me to buy from Motorpoint, hence why I keep coming back. However, this is only a four star review since I do feel there is room for improvement in customer service in some areas. Firstly, I always try and avoid speaking to sales persons over the phone. But unfortunately I had to on this occasion. The rep tried to tell me the service plan I had purchased for my existing car would become invalid once I traded the car in. However, I checked with the manufacturer and later found out this was not true. While I do understand the remainder of a service plan may not be of any value to Motorpoint, they should be not be informing me that it would become invalid if this is not true! Sales rep also tried to sell some extras, including paint protection for £400, and mats for around £100. I do not know where these prices come from, but we’ll have to undergo quite a bit more inflation before I consider paying these prices. On collection, not for the first time, there was quite bit of waiting around. I was bang on time for my appointment, but there were some delays, albeit not as bad as previous occasions. The receptionist, I feel, could do with improving her people skills. Instead of saying ‘No driving in the building’, sounding like a bossy-boots, perhaps she should say ‘By all means start the car up, but we would ask that you please do not drive in the building’. When I saw the car, the number plate was on cock-eyed yet again. This is at least the third of my purchases from Motorpoint in recent years where the number plate has not been on straight. I do object to paying a £149 preparation fee, having the number plates changed when they probably don’t need to be, then seeing them on the car at an angle. The handover was smooth, and the gentleman who conducted it did a great job. I think he was glad that I was organised. Seemed happy enough to answer all my questions about the car, The car itself seems excellent. Still getting used to it and learning about it, but I am very pleased with the car I’ve bought, which is the most important factor. This is why I continue buying from Motorpoint. Final point - please let the customer remove their possessions from their old car in their own time. Do not stand over them while they are doing this, or get involved in the process!
