Motorpoint’s Peterborough store was recently featured in a national TV programme exploring the UK’s electric car market.
The store was chosen as a location by producers of ITV’s Tonight programme for a segment the show titled ‘Your Car: Time to Switch?’, which aired last night (19.01.22).
In the show, presenter and motoring journalist Ginny Buckley examined whether choosing an electric car is the right option for motorists. The show was partly filmed at Motorpoint’s Peterborough store on Edgerley Drain Road, where a production crew spoke to both customers and staff.
Lee Wheadon, Motorpoint Peterborough’s general sales manager who featured in the film said: “We were delighted to be asked to take part in a show designed to help motorists figure out which vehicle option may be right for them when they choose their next car.”
“I think it’s safe to say that, in the show, Ginny concludes that electric cars are definitely the future of motoring but, for now, they may not be the right option for every driver.
“That conclusion very much fits with our position at Motorpoint. We actively encourage all our customers to look at all their options when making their decision. Electric will be the perfect option for customers in urban and suburban settings but, for higher-mileage drivers, traditional petrol and diesel options are probably still their best option.”
