The latest lockdown across the country may mean the closure of non-essential retail (which includes car showrooms), but there are still ways to safely buy a car during this period

To ensure we are serving our customers safely we are offering the option of reserve and collect from your local branch or a free home delivery* service.

Cars can also be reserved online or over the phone, where our team can also discuss car finance options or the part exchange of your old vehicle if required.

Manage The Whole Order Process Online Without Having To Leave The House

Our Online Order Management Portal makes it easy to complete all your car purchase documentation requirements, as well as reducing the need for face to face contact.

The portal can be used to check and ensure your order details are correct, validate your personal details, upload a copy of your driving license and make a payment (if you’re not taking finance). You can even use it to arrange a collection or delivery slot.

Our team will be in touch the day before collection/delivery to confirm everything is in place for a safe handover and answer any further queries you may have.

If you’d prefer not to use the portal, many of our pre-handover checks can be completed by a member of our Customer Care team over the phone.

COVID-Safe Handover Of Your Vehicle

We have options for the handover of your new car that minimise contact between our customers and staff. Choose from free home delivery or contactless collection on a date and time that is convenient for you.

Home Delivery

Have your new car delivered to your door with home delivery from Motorpoint. This is currently available Monday to Friday with time slots between 10.00-17.00.

With the current COVID-19 situation, home delivery is being offered free of charge*. Coupled with our 14 day moneyback guarantee you can buy your new vehicle with complete peace of mind. If it’s not right for you, you have 14 days to return it for a full refund*.

COVID-Safe Deliveries

The safety of our customers and teams is paramount at this time. All vehicle deliveries are in line with Public Health guidance:

  • All cars are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before each delivery
  • Our drivers wear protective equipment at all times during the delivery process
  • As an added precaution, cars are disinfected a second time by the driver, prior to being handed over

Reserve & Collect With Contactless Collection

National guidance permitting, you also have the option to collect your new car in person, using our contactless reserve and collect service from any of our stores. Collection slots are currently available Monday to Friday, 11.30am-5.30pm.

With the current COVID-19 situation, and to help keep you safe, we have adapted our reserve and collect service as follows:

  • We will arrange a collection slot at a time and date that suits you, and send you full details of what to expect and do when arriving on site before your appointment
  • Before you arrive, you’ll need to upload a photo of your driving licence to our Online Order Management Portal and pay for your car (we would advise doing this at least 24 hours before collection to allow time for processing). Completion of all other documentation prior to arrival will also help to speed up the collection process.
  • On arrival, please make your way to our dedicated collection zone, which will be clearly signposted
  • One of our team members will be there to greet you and direct you to your allocated parking spot
  • Unfortunately, due to the current lockdown rules, we are unable to offer test drives at collection
  • Once you’re ready to drive the car away, all documentation will need to be completed (if you haven’t already done so online). This can either be done on your personal device, or we have tablets available for you to use (all sanitised before and after every use).

If you change your mind about the car on collection day, don’t worry. Just let our team know before you sign the V5 and they will process a refund for you.

Will My Car Need To Be Quarantined After Handover?

All cars over 100 miles purchased from us undergo an extensive check known as the Motorpoint Quality Standard. To ensure maximum safety at the point your vehicle is handed over this has been further enhanced:

  • Our car preparation teams wear protective equipment at all times whilst preparing the car
  • Our valet process includes an antibacterial wipe of all touchable surfaces Steering wheel and gear knob covers are fitted during the preparation process
  • All sold cars under-go an additional pre-delivery clean

* Home Delivery T&Cs

  • Your new car will be delivered to your home free of charge from your local Motorpoint store. Please note that an internal store transfer charge may apply if it is being moved from a different location.
  • We offer 50 miles to test drive your car for a full refund if you change your mind within the first 14 days of purchase. A mileage fee will be applied to every mile covered over this. The 50 miles is exclusive of the miles needed to return your car to your nearest Motorpoint store.
  • If you wish to return your vehicle, we will collect it free within the first seven days. The car will need to be returned by the customer during the seven days following. If you part exchanged your previous vehicle, we cannot guarantee this will be returned to you if you return your new car.
  • If the car sells before you decide to make a return, we will provide you the cash value you were given for the part exchange of your vehicle.
