What Peugeot electric models are there?

Peugeot currently makes two electric cars and two electric MPVs based on its van range.

The lineup starts with the e-208, which looks essentially the same as the regular 208 hatchback. Inside, there's the distinctive angular dashboard and small steering wheel widely used across Peugeot's current lineup, and most of the materials used feel suitably premium. There's space for four adults and a boot that's about average for the segment. It's nice to drive, too, with accurate controls, a composed ride, and a decent slug of acceleration from the 100kW (134hp) electric motor. The 50kWh battery pack should return more than 200 miles of range in ideal conditions.

Next up is the e-2008, based on the 2008 compact SUV. This uses the same EV setup as the e-208, with a 100kW (134hp) motor and 50kWh battery pack. Having a slightly taller, heavier body means performance is less energetic than the e-208 but still plenty for day-to-day driving, and range takes a 5-10% hit. The tradeoff, however, is a noticeable jump in practicality, with more rear passenger space, making this a better choice for families with kids, and a larger boot that can swallow taller and wider cargo. Around corners, the e-2008 isn't quite as sharp as the e-208, but the suspension still softens rough roads impressively.

Finally, there's the e-Rifter and e-Traveller MPVs, which swap out the diesel engines found in the Rifter and Traveller passenger vans for the same 50kWh battery and 100kW (134hp) motor. Like their fuel-powered siblings, these vehicles are all about practicality, sacrificing a little of the premium feel of Peugeot's electric car lineup, for a vast amount of passenger and cargo capacity. Claimed electric range sits at 172 miles for the e-Rifter and 148 miles for the e-Traveller.

What Peugeot electric models are SUVs?

Currently, the only Peugeot electric SUV is the e-2008 compact SUV. Pairing the same 50kWh battery pack and 100kW (134hp) motor found across Peugeot, Vauxhall and Citroen EV lineups, with the brand's attractive 2008 body shape and quirky interior.

Peugeot currently makes two larger SUVs – the five-seat 3008 and the seven-seat 5008 – and neither of these models is offered as a fully electric SUV. However, the 3008 is available as plug-in hybrids, combining a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor for strong performance and excellent fuel economy. This model can travel more than 30 miles on electric power alone, which might be enough to cover your daily commute if you can charge at your place of work.
