Why my New Year's motoring wish is for drivers to stop using their phone while at the wheel28 December 2016
Motorpoint blogger Ken Gibson explains why his motoring New Year’s wish is for all those drivers still using their phone while driving to stop
If I have one motoring New Year’s wish it is for all those drivers still using their phones while driving to stop.
Using the phone, especially texting, is for me every bit as dangerous and irresponsible as anyone drink driving.
The Government have in the last year increased the fines and penalty points for drivers caught using a phone, and the courts should enforce them to the maximum.
The only way motorists are going to learn is if they lose their licence and possibly their job and get hit hard in the pocket. There is no excuse for not going hands free and your mobile professionally connected to your in car system. As far as I am concerned anyone still using their mobile phone while driving in this day and age is quite simply a moron.
