Clean Air Zones (CAZ) are areas in cities that limit vehicle access depending on your car's emissions standard. They're popping up in city centres across the UK, and it can cost a pretty penny if you drive into one in a non-exempt vehicle. What cars are allowed in Clean Air Zones?
It varies depending on the city you’re in, but cars are classified by their ‘Euro’ emissions level. Generally speaking, to avoid paying in most Clean Air Zones your car needs to meet Euro 6 standards if it’s a diesel, or Euro 4 if it’s a petrol.
Where are the UK’s Clean Air Zones?

Every car sold by Motorpoint meets Euro 6 standards, so they're exempt from all CAZ areas that charge based on emissions. All diesel cars registered after September 2015 comply with Euro 6 regulations, while all petrol cars registered from 1 January 2005 comply with Euro 4 regs. This means you can drive an older petrol car in a CAZ than a diesel.
How much does it cost to enter a Clean Air Zone?
It varies depending on the type of vehicle you’re in, and the CAZ you’re using. Some CAZs don't charge private cars to enter – the ones that do are listed below. You'll also find the cost to enter the zone, exemption criteria and any extra info you need to know.

* The penalty amount doubles with each subsequent breach of the rules detected in the same LEZ. The penalty charges are capped at £480 for cars and light goods vehicles. The fine resets to £60 if no violation for 90 days.
