Motorpoint renews partnership with Cardiff Arena

11 July 2016 Press Release

Motorpoint has extended its naming rights agreement with Motorpoint Arena Cardiff for another five years

“The Motorpoint Arena Cardiff will continue to form the centre-piece of our plans to support our successful site in Newport and help further establish Motorpoint as South Wales’ leading independent car retailer ”

The UK’s leading car supermarket, which has a nine-acre site in Newport, will continue to invest in the world-renowned 7,500 capacity arena until at least 2021 as part of its drive to raise brand awareness across South Wales. This will include a complete re-branding of the building in the heart of Cardiff city centre such as the installation of high-profile outdoor LED signage on the Arena’s towers.

The Motorpoint Arena Cardiff has been at the forefront of the region’s live entertainment scene, since it was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1993, hosting an array of music artists including Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Tom Jones, Kings of Leon, The Killers and Oasis among others. Managed by Live Nation, the largest live music company in the world, over half a million people visit Motorpoint Arena Cardiff every year.

Mark Carpenter, Managing Director of Motorpoint, explained: “The Motorpoint Arena Cardiff will continue to form the centre-piece of our plans to support our successful site in Newport and help further establish Motorpoint as South Wales’ leading independent car retailer underpinned by an award-winning level of choice, value and service. We’re looking forward to carrying on working with Phil Sheeran and his team at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff and helping deliver an unforgettable experience for the one million plus who come through the venues doors every year.”

Phil Sheeran, General Manager of Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, added: “We are absolutely delighted that Motorpoint has extended its partnership for a further five years and look forward to working together to ensure the Arena remains at the forefront of South Wales’ live entertainment scene.”

Motorpoint currently has naming rights agreements for both Motorpoint Arena Cardiff and Motorpoint Arena Nottingham as part of its sponsorship portfolio.
