Motorpoint makes dream come true for Widnes Vikings fan

31 May 2016 Press Release

Widnes Vikings fan Jayne Greenhalgh has realised a long-held dream to meet rugby league star Kevin Brown – thanks to Motorpoint

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Motorpoint for making this happen”

Jayne, who lives in Grappenhall in Warrington, beat off competition from hundreds of other supporters in a competition run by the UK’s leading car supermarket to be presented with a signed framed playing shirt from the team’s legendary stand off ahead of the recent Magic Weekend.

The 33 year-old Care Assistant, who recently got married to her long-term partner Zoe, has been a Widnes Vikings fan ever since her father took her to see the legendary Martin Offiah as a six year-old. A season ticket holder she sits with her family in the South Stand at the Select Security Stadium.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Motorpoint for making this happen,” explained Jayne. “I’ve been a Widnes Vikings fan for as long as I can remember and have always wanted to meet Kevin Brown so when I saw the competition on Motorpoint’s Twitter page I just had to enter. I never thought I’d win for a minute so I was taken completely by surprise when my name came up and I got a chance to meet the skipper after training at the stadium. “

Kevin Cartwright, General Manager of Motorpoint in Widnes, added: “It was fantastic to meet Jayne and, together with Kevin Brown, present one of the club’s biggest fans with his playing shirt from the Castleford Tigers game – signed and framed.”
Motorpoint is one of the principal kit sponsors for the Super League team with its logo featuring on the upper back of the Widnes Viking’s home and away shirts for the last two seasons.
