The Role

Motorpoint have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Executive to join their Marketing team!

Based at Motorpoint’s Head Office in Derby, the role will entail occasional travel to the 12 retail sites across the UK as and when required. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Content Executive will be responsible for generating engaging customer-focused content for all online platforms, with particular focus on the company’s website.  


    • Working closely with the Head of Marketing to devise and  deliver a web content strategy that aligns with the company's commercial objectives

    • Create a content calendar in line with brand objectives and business priorities, ensuring regular content updates on the company website throughout the year

    • Overseeing delivery of all aspects of online content

    • Updating sections of the website including product information, about us and the homepage in line with our brand guidelines, with adherence to the company tone and style

    • Develop partnerships with external content producers and copywriters to produce content in the form of blogs, vlogs, articles, videos, imagery and web copy

    • Ensure all content produced meets Google and other online platforms guidelines

    • Writing entertaining and informative search engine optimised copy

    • Targeting keywords set by the Online Marketing Manager and basing articles around them

    • Keeping up to date with industry best practice and monitoring content activities of competitor websites

    • Repurposing content for different mediums including social media, video and other Digital workstreams

    • Assist in promoting content across social networks, including Facebook and Twitter

    • Provide regular reporting on the progress of website content against agreed campaign KPI’s

The Person

What are we looking for?

  • A proactive, organised self-starter with a keen eye for detail
  • The ability to work with set budgets and meet key deadlines
  • Creative minded with an ability to conceive interesting ideas for new content

  • Proven track record in a similar role – preferably 1-2 years of experience either client or agency side
  • An excellent understanding of content marketing including a working knowledge of CMS platforms, Google Analytics and HTML coding
  • Strong focus on planning and delivery to agreed timescales, budget and quality of service
  • Good working knowledge of SEO
  • Experience collating and overseeing a content calendar
  • Ability to work well under pressure, as part of a team and to tight deadlines
  • An excellent command of written English with attention to detail and an understanding of the need to adhere to brand guidelines and company tone of voice
  • Demonstrable experience creating compelling creative communication through copywriting or managing external creative agencies
  • Previous experience of working with external production teams to execute brand-centric creative content
  • Experience of commissioning content via freelance writers, bloggers and vloggers
