Location: Derby
Hours: 37.5 Monday-Friday

The Role

Earning up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are looking for Ecommerce Web Developers to join our talented and innovative development team. Our team members are creative, passionate and driven and due to the ongoing success of Motorpoint we are expanding the team to allow us to provide a market leading online experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that pushes the boundaries of technology in a fast paced, growing organisation. Working closely with the Web Development Manager, this role will be help to lay the foundations to take Motorpoint to the next step in its technological journey.

With your keen eye for detail and strong time management skills, you will develop both customer facing applications, which requires consideration for mobile devices and cross browser compatibility and business user web-based applications. Excellent communication skills will be essential in order to discuss requirements with both technical and non-technical teams.

Key initial priorities for this role include:

  • Development and maintenance of and
  • Working closely with web and application development teams to develop enterprise level architecture for the Motorpoint eco system
  • Actively participating in SCRUM process
  • Identifying and suggesting improvements to process and tooling used by internal and external teams
  • Building close working relationships with teams outside of IT
  • Setting an example to junior team members

The Person

Essential skills:

  • At least 2 years' commercial experience working with web applications preferably in an ecommerce environment
  • Commercial experience using ASP.Net, C#, MVC (v4 or above)
  • Visual Studio 2013 or above
  • SQL Server
  • Experience with SOA and WebApi

Desirable skills:

  • TDD
  • Experience with TFS
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Experience of working with high load web sites with a focus on performance

  • The confidence to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to establish excellent working relationships with the existing IT team and across the wider business
